The American National Day celebrates the signature of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 by the first thirteen colonies which settled in the country. George Washington was then elected the first American president in 1789.
The American flag is named the Stars and Stripes. The stars represent the fifty American states and the stripes stand for the thirteen colonies.
The American national anthem is the Star Spangled Banner.
